Get found by families with funds to spend
Around 500,000 Florida students hold a Choice scholarship, and every one of those families has money sitting in an EMA account that has to be spent on education. The problem is on their side of the screen: Step Up’s directory of approved service providers is behind the parent login. There is no public list. Parents ask each other in Facebook groups because there is nowhere else to look.
That is the gap this page fills. If a Florida scholarship family can spend their funds with you, you belong in front of them.
Who should be listed
- Tutors and instructors — part-time and full-time, in person or online
- Therapists and specialists — speech, occupational, behavioural, music and art therapy, horse therapy
- Coaches and PE providers — physical education counts as an eligible category
- Private schools and PEP hybrid schools — full-time and part-time enrolment
- Microschools, co-ops and home education programs
- Testing and evaluation services — assessments, annual evaluations
- Curriculum and materials sellers, including MyScholarShop vendors
- Electives — music, art, cooking, coding, entrepreneurship, life skills
What we will not do
We will not tell a family you are approved unless Step Up says so, we will not promise you enrolments, and we will not sell anyone’s data. We are an independent guide with a reputation to protect — that reputation is the only reason a parent trusts a name on this site.
We also will never ask a parent for their EMA login, and we would ask you not to either. Step Up’s user agreement prohibits third parties from touching a family’s account, and they are actively warning families about businesses that offer to “help” with receipts and expenses.
How to become an approved provider with Step Up
Being listed here is not the same as being approved by Step Up. If you want to bill the scholarship directly you need a Business Account inside EMA. Step Up runs two separate tracks:
- Service providers (tutoring, therapy, PE, schools, testing) — start at Step Up’s Become a Service Partner page. You create a Business Account, pick your service categories, and supply the credential documents for those categories. Payments go to the Business Account, not to individual staff.
- Product vendors (curriculum, materials, kits) — that is the MyScholarShop track, through Step Up’s vendor partnerships page.
We are not involved in either process and cannot influence it. We will happily point families at you once you are approved — and list you before then, clearly marked, so families know to check.
